​​At Reliable Machine & Engineering we provide reverse engineering as a standalone service. We utilize highly accurate methods to capture the geometry of an existing object for analysis or reproduction. We utilize advanced software tools to convert scanned data from your part into a hybrid surface model. These richly detailed, extremely accurate hybrid surface models have a number of uses.

We can use the hybrid model to analyze the structure, function, and operation of an existing part to recreate it, fix its flaws, or initiate design changes to improve manufacturability or reduce costs. Hybrid models can be compared to the original CAD drawing to document manufacturing defects or identify wear patterns. If an OEM part or assembly is obsolete and the original drawings cannot be acquired, we can use the surface model to create CAD drawings, make design changes, and develop any tooling that might be needed for reproduction. Reverse engineering is also an excellent addition to your dimensional inspection toolbox.

Reverse engineering can be performed at our facility and we have field technicians who can travel to your location and reverse engineer parts and assemblies for on-premises inspections.
